Happy Birthday Week!

Per tradition, the birthday week has begun! We have had a busy, but extremely fun, week/weekend so far... and it's still going! We started the fun-marathon on Thursday night with the Wangs. John and Anthea's anniversary is on April 11th, the day after Tami's birthday, so our co-celebration took place at a local sushi bar, Tokkuri Tei. The food was so pretty that we couldn't resist looking like tourists and taking pictures of our food.

Hamachi never looked so good! (Tami did not partake. Boo.)

Happy 12th anniversary, Wangs!
On Friday night, we went to our friends, the Ingalls', for some dinner and games. We played a new game, Puerto Rico, and....lost. Saturday morning started early with our online shower. For those of you who don't know what we're talking about, here's what happened. Mike's mom and sisters threw us an online baby shower. Earlier in the week, we found out that they had invited family and friends to send us baby gifts over the course of this past week. I think there were games online as well. On Saturday morning, we set up a conference call on Skype to open the gifts together. We posted pictures of the gifts that had arrived thus far on the blog as we went. The post before this one was the result of that day. After we showered online (and in real life), we went to our god-daughter's first birthday party. What a party it was! They had a carnival theme with games, a moon bounce, airbrush tattoo artist, and the absolute BEST balloon animal guy EVER! He really could do anything the kids requested. Miss Marley Kei Lijuan Connors was born on April 30th one year ago, and what a year it has been.

Funny picture of Marley trying to escape. She was done taking pictures.

We tried again with Dad, but Marley wasn't interested.
After we partied hard that morning, we went to a movie ("Date Night") and laughed like crazy people. We ended the evening with Mexican food at Azteca (the only acceptable Mexican on the island) and a new board game. Tami was an investigator trying to uncover which character was Jack the Ripper (Mike) who was trying to escape.

After a long day, Tami and the baby had to sit down and relax. The necklace was a birthday gift from Mike! Good man.
Sunday started with church and will end with dinner out with our friend, Susan Hardaway, who is in town from the Diocese of West TX for a conference. (We really do eat at home sometimes.... promise.) We're not sure what will come after tonight, but we will end this fun-filled week with the Allports on Thursday. A great end to a great week!

Alleluia! Alleluia! Alleluia!

The Lord is risen indeed, Alleluia! Happy Easter! Well, things are moving along very quickly. We are almost 35 weeks into our pregnancy and, more than ever, feel like we are in the downhill slide to when the baby will come. We're both feeling pretty good and continue to adjust to the changes that Tami's body presents daily. It's been awhile since we've posted (again), so here are some highlights from the last few weeks.

We had a very busy Holy Week that led us into a really wonderful Easter. We were able to capture our annual family photo in front of the Easter cross at church. The cross was filled with a variety of beautiful and multi-colored tropical, and not so tropical, flowers this year. At 34 weeks along, the belly also made an appearance in our Easter photos this year. After church, we had a chance to rest before heading to the Allports for a delicious Easter dinner. We had a really wonderful holiday!

At the end of March, some of our closest friends hosted a co-ed baby shower for us. The hostesses were Anthea Wang, Carrie Allport, Kristen Connors, and Christina Hafele. These ladies really outdid themselves. We gathered at one of our favorite brunch places - The Creme Pot, for delicious food and wonderful fellowship. We played games, opened presents, and enjoyed adorable decorations. We had a lot of fun and are so thankful for the way our friends have supported us as we prepare for the baby's arrival. We're not sure what we would do without these people in our lives.

Mike and Tami party it up at The Creme Pot.
John and Anthea Wang put so much time and planning into making this day really special. Anthea was the mastermind behind this shower, and we cannot thank her enough.
Moani Oakes and Carrie Allport stop for a photo-opp.
Christina, Cory, and Brian Hafele kept us all entertained with fun (and funny) games.
Kristen, Marley (our super cute god-daughter), and Sean Connors won almost every game!
The Ingalls - Teresa, Autumn, and Clayton are our transplanted friends from Tennessee. We spent Tsunami Day with them and had a blast waiting for the wave that never was.
John and Mike enjoy some boy time in the midst of all the frill.
Tami with our good friends from church - Elizabeth Winternitz-Russell and Ruth Merz.
Mike measures Tami's girth for a shower game. Elizabeth guessed the size with her string within about an inch!
We love all of our friends and cannot thank them enough for the way that they love us!
