Happy 1 Month Birthday!

On May 25th, Harper was officially 1 month old! We celebrated by going to the doctor for a check-up. Harper is doing well and growing like a weed. She weighed in at 9 lbs 1 oz and was 21 inches long. This is a HUGE improvement over our weight gain worries from before. As Harper has continued to grow into her own, she has learned to enjoy her bouncy chair.... well she enjoys it if Mommy or Daddy is constantly bouncing it for her. So, if constant movement is what she wants, then constant movement is what she shall have. For her 1 month birthday, we bought ourselves... I mean Harper... a swing! It took a few minutes for her to decide if she liked it, but it has become one of the best purchases we have made so far. Tomorrow, Harper will be 5 weeks old and is doing great. Other than a bad case of heat rash and grody spitting up on her parents, there is nothing to complain about here!

Wee! Harper's birthday swing.

Taking a break from all of the excitement.

What she looks like after passing gas.

We took our first walk around the block.
Yesterday, we went on our first big outing. We went to the outlet mall to get some things we needed and then to Chili's. Harper was very good.
Harper shared a burger with Daddy. She ate like a champ!

Chilling with Daddy. Check out my punk rocker hair!

Just resting my eyes (and hands) for a minute.

Ole!

Too much dancing! Must rest again. This is what I do best!
After breakfast this morning, Daddy decided to try out some of my new hair bows from Aunt Laura. I looked too cute to pass up the photo opp!
Hi Daddy. What do you think?

Week 3 Highlights

Well, Harper is officially 3 weeks and 3 days old! Harper is getting bigger and changing daily. She's developed a new way to communicate with us. Well, it's more like boss us around. Harper grunts and yells at us! She will even scrunch her body and face up and shake her head around (while grunting) like a shark or crocodile performing the death role. It's actually quite funny. We've survived another week, so here are a few of the highlights.

Harper has perfected her "blue steel" pose. Harper Zoolander has her debut.

Bath time is quickly becoming a favorite part of Harper's evening routine.

The camera loves her.

Daddy likes to style Harper's hair. This was his most recent creation.

Mommo's pals sent this onesie to Harper. "It's all good with grandma."

Mommy and Harper just finished battling the spit-up. This is outfit number....2? for Mommy today.

Uncle Benzer came to visit from Kauai yesterday. This is the second time Harper has met Ben, but she still can't seem to get enough of him.

I know you!

After 3 weeks of excitement, we made it to our actual due date (May 15th). Late that night, we decided to take a picture to commemorate where we were on that date. We waited until really late at night to remember what it was like the night Harper was born. Man, we miss those nurses! :)

We're so glad Harper is here and that we've had the chance to enjoy her for 3 weeks already. Here's to an exciting (drama free) week 4!

Another Day in the Life of Harper Grace

Here are a few more pictures of me and some things that I do during the day. Mommy and daddy have me on a pretty tight schedule. You know, places to go (the Dr, my crib) things to do (eat, poop, sleep), people to see (mommy, daddy, Mom-mo, and Pita). It's fantastic!
This is Mom-mo (mommy's mommy). She loves to hold me and I love to fall asleep on her shoulder. She has been here since I got here, but she is leaving soon. I will miss her and her shoulder when she is gone...hopefully, I will get to see her again soon! Thanks for coming to see me Mom-mo. I know mommy and daddy really appreciated (daddy taught me that word) all your help!
So daddy was telling me a story about how he and mommy met, and then he told me where they went to school...(dont tell daddy, but I just did this to make him smile!)
My Auntie Jennie and Uncle Marcus gave my some shiny new socks to try on. Thanks Auntie Jenny and Uncle Marcus! I can't wait to meet you. (don't tell mommy, but I am only wearing these to make her smile)
This is another bath time with Daddy. I am not sure why I am in the kitchen sink, though. Daddy thinks I am being modest. Of course I am daddy!
This is the case of the mysterious sock! Mommy and Daddy got me all dressed up for a picture and then put me down for a nap. Daddy came to check on me and noticed one of my socks had fallen off. What he couldn't figure out was how the sock ended up by my waist...(I haven't told mommy and daddy yet...I am a kung-fu ninja!)

A Day in the Life of Harper Grace

I have left the house twice since I have been home now. Both times I went to see my really nice pediatrician, Dr. Ng. The first visit she was a little concerned because I had lost more than 10% of my birth weight. So she told mommy and daddy that I had to eat more often even if I was sleeping. Not a bad deal for me! When we left to go to the Dr. this little Jackson Chameleon was sitting on my wall. I watched him change colors to blend in with the rock he was climbing on. My first science field trip!
This is my nurse at Dr. Ng's office. She weighs and measures me. On the second visit she told mommy and daddy that I had done really well and that I had gained almost 4oz in one day! Food, yummy!
This is my puppy Pita. She is really fun and cute and is really interested in me. My favorite is when she tries to sniff my toes. Mommy doesn't like it though. :)
This is mommy and Mom-mo giving me one of my first baths. I am really digging this bath thing! I like the warm water, it reminds me of something vaguely familiar...
Afterwards, mommy or daddy always brushes my hair...I love to get my hair did!
This is me and my boppy pillow. Does is get any better than this!?!?!?
This is the most recent picture of me on Thursday, May 6th. I think I have grown some already. Daddy tells me I look like a little angel!
